Culture is a vital and unique part of every organization. I’ve listened to hundred of VIP’s explain it, try to define it, and motivate it for years. I’ve learned a few things too. Living in Tower Lakes, we are lucky because our culture is a living, breathing experience that flows through us every time we step into the neighborhood.
Our culture is why we do what we do and why we develop our bottom line beliefs. In Tower Lakes, it’s a key element in the decision to raise our family here, become an active member of our community, and remain dedicated for all the years you are lucky enough to live here. I see it every time we have an event, volunteer for activities, or just stroll the neighborhood.
Our community culture is not hard to define. There are three key elements.
- We believe in our community;
- We believe in our family and raising our kids in this community; and
- We believe in the neighbors who make up our community.
Unlike a corporate environment, we don’t get paid, at least with money. Our coin of the realm is a rather elusive measure of satisfaction mixed with comfort knowing we live in an involved, passionate community. One that cares about our families, our neighbors, and our environment.
Doubtful? Check out the results of the “2017 Resident Survey” conducted by TLIA this past year. The results are amazing. CLICK HERE to review the survey.
The bottom line: There’s no magic formula here and no magic dust necessary to pass it along. The only requirement for you is a belief in family, a community attitude, a sharing smile, and a friendly wave as you pass by.
I often substitute the word passion for culture because living here is a passion for me. It is why my family is here and will be for as long as I can see into the future.
My theme for this year is “Embrace the Passion.” Together I urge us all to embrace our culture so we can continue to make Tower Lakes the best and the most passionate community, now and into the future.
Happy New Year to you and your families.
