This month I want to cover a few catch-up notes and well deserved mentions…
We just finished another wonderful July holiday. Great times, good food, wonderful people united in a community spirit unmatched anywhere! Please remember to thank and congratulate the members of the Events Committee who produced it for all of us. Yes, I said Events Committee because that is what it is now as they move into the new year and new format of the committee. The managers of the new committee are Fran & Rick Steffen and Kristi & Bob Nash. They will gather a wide range of event volunteers who have committed to run specific events throughout the year. It is a totally new concept of the old Social Committee. Join in the fun, be a part of the New Events Committee… See the email list in the newsletter and drop them a line!
One final time, I would like to express my thanks and appreciation of the TLIA Board for those members who contributed their time and talents over the past two years on the Board. Past President, Andy Hay, Rich Bahr, Alan Merkel, and Chris Wade. It was an honor to serve with you and we look forward to your continued participation in all our community does.
We have recently had a rash of scattered information throughout the community about several topics associated with TLIA. Please, please take only the information you receive from TLIA through our official communications outreach as the facts of our situation. We strive each month to publish a complete and accurate newsletter. Our emails are specific to events and current news for everyone. Your Board speaks with one voice and one message through our outreach so that all can benefit from our efforts at transparency in all areas of TLIA.
As we move toward the end of summer, look for news on the annual meeting coming this fall. We will have several decisions to consider and vote on. Please be informed and prepared.
Finally, we recently received reports of kids playing on and around the dam. Parents inform your kids of the dangers of that activity. It is posted as a “No Trespassing” zone and we will enforce those rules. It is a matter of safety! Please stay away from the dam, especially as the lake has remained at a high water/high flow state all season.
