Recently our community has lost many trees due to various tree diseases as well as an aging population of trees. The Village as well as TLIA have been doing replanting this Spring and Fall on their respective properties. The reasons for planting trees are many and proven. It improves neighborhood aesthetics and beauty, cultivates nature and biodiversity, aids in storm water management, contributes to the health of our lake, encourages air cooling and purification, contributes to noise abatement and enhances property values.
Beginning Monday, October 31 through Friday, November 11 (or sooner if supplies run out) The Village of Tower Lakes and the Tree Commission will be providing a sharing purchase program to allow residents to purchase trees at substantially reduces prices. The selections are limited and trees will be sold on a first come-first served basis with one tree per household sign up. There will be 40 trees for sale (10 of each species).
