The day of thanks is almost upon us. We are 133 people strong for the 9a TLIA Turkey Trot. Didn’t register? Doesn’t matter. Come to Village Hall parking lot a little before 9a with your running/hiking shoes.
Volunteers: Looking for just 2 more volunteers for the West Side Station 8 and 9. Please email me if you can do it. See map of race and volunteer stations here.
Donations: Don’t forget to Bring your $15 check/adult with you ($10 if you bought a t-shirt) made out to TLIA Youth Committee. Also, the Skurlas have a big box on their porch (right across from Village Hall) for Barrington Giving Day. Bring any food, books or gently used, warm coats, hats, gloves, snow pants and/or boots for Families of low means in the Barrington 220 district.
Parking: If you are driving the family over, please do not park in the TL Village lot or on the road anywhere on the Trot route. The map to the route is above and there will be signs highlighting the route the morning of.
The Run and the Prize: Best dressed Man, Woman and Kid (12 and under) win lovely baskets care of TLCF.
Safety: It’s going to be warm yet overcast Thanksgiving morning possibly hitting 50 degrees. It will probably be wet from all the melting snow. Be safe. Let the faster runners start in front, stay to the right and pay attention to the runners coming back as there is at least 1K of overlap where people will be on both sides of the road. This is not a fully closed course so please run/walk safely. Our volunteers will help with blind spots but always stay aware of cars and other runners.
