The grounds committee is dedicated to keeping the lands of Tower Lakes beautiful.  

John Yancey is the TLIA Grounds Chairman.

John has been a resident of Tower Lakes Resident 14 yrs. And on the TLIA board for 7 yrs, he is currently serving his 4th term.

The Grounds Committee members are: John Yancey, Matt Ott and Randy Spiess

The committee is responsible for the care and maintenance of all TLIA property. This includes; urban forest management, beach and shore line, 8 boat landings, 3 community Island Parks and 12 neighborhood Parks. They work closely with The Village of Tower Lakes in regards to storm water management and forestry issues and concerns. They also work closely with 2 subcommittees: PARC, headed by Jack Johnson and Grounds Beatification, headed by Pat Covak. Each year they organize a Spring and Fall Volunteer day dedicated to special projects related to ground improvements in parks, forestry or the Islands Park areas.

FullSizeRender (7)The TLIA Grounds Committee manages all of our parks. All of our parks have ben re-developed and improved over the last few years. The Park system includes; 12 dedicated parks; 3 islands; 1 tennis facility; 20 lake access points (including 9 boat landings).  The areas are divided into 5 categories: Playground Parks, Community Parks, Sport Parks, Passive (Poet) Parks, Open Space Initiatives

  1. Playground Parks All dedicated as children’s parks. Included are:   Aram Park (west side),  Iversen Park (east side),  Rose Park (north lake), and Zupancic Park  (south hills).
  2. Community Parks Used largely by the community as a whole.  Included are:  Graham Park (beach access area), Play Island (beach), Rest Island (flagpole), Toy Island (wooden bridge), and Wagner Park (east boat landing).
  3. Sport Parks Designated by primary use.  Included are:  Bays Park (volleyball),  Hussissian Park (soccer),  Murray Park (basketball) and Tennis Courts.
  4. Passive (Poet) Parks Used as reflective, contemplative areas.  Included are:  Barsumian Park, Gorden Lewis Park (cypress pond),  and Lindy Lewis Park (gazebo).
  5. Open Space Initiatives Used for specialized activities.  Included are: Boat Landings/Storage Sites, Lake Access Sites, Paths and Trails, and Nature Sites.
